Capital Classics Theatre Company is seeking Connecticut-based, non-Equity stage actors for our 2024 Greater Hartford Shakespeare Festival productions of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, directed by Geoffrey Sheehan, and The Taming of the Shrew, directed by Jan Mason, in repertory. A rep company of 12 actors will be hired to be cast in both shows. Character tracks will depend on the make up of the company.
Initial auditions will be by video submittal only.
Please provide a 1-minute dramatic classical monologue and a 1-minute comedic classical monologue. Please make sure to give enough space on your video frame for full-body physicality.
Deadline for submissions is 3/23/24.
In-person call backs will be held March 30 in West Hartford, Connecticut.
Rehearsals will begin on June 1, 2024 in West Hartford.
Performances will be held Wednesdays through Sundays, July 10 – August 4, 2024 on the campus of the University of Saint Joseph, West Hartford.
