Enjoy "Shakespeare under the stars" this summer!

Capital Classics will be staging of "Love's Labour's Lost" — as part of the Greater Hartford Shakespeare Festival — for three weekends (July 13-30, 2017), outdoors on the grounds of the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, Connecticut.

In “Love’s Labour’s Lost,” Capital Classics will bring its spirited, raucous performance style to this rambunctious comedy of love, as a cast of characters stumble and bumble its way in pursuit of love with true Shakespearean silliness and joy.

Directed by David Watson, associate professor of theatre at the Hartt School, performances of "Love's Labour's Lost" will be held on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 5:30 p.m.

For 27 years, Capital Classics has built a reputation for making Shakespeare accessible to the thousands of fans that turn out each summer with their family and friends — and picnic baskets — on the grounds of the University of Saint Joseph to enjoy outdoor "Shakespeare under the stars.

In keeping with our desire to serve the Greater Hartford community, we keep admission cost to a minimum. Tickets to the Shakespeare festival are $15 for adults and $10 for children.

Group rates and other discounts are also available.

Three easy ways to get tickets:

  • In person. At the Frances Driscoll Box Office at the University of Saint Joseph.
  • By phone. Reach the box office at (860) 231-5555.

Tickets can always be purchased without reservations at the box office starting 60 minutes before our shows. Be sure to bring your blanket, lawn chairs and picnic basket to really enjoy the outdoor experience. Snacks and drinks are also on sale before each performance and during the intermission.
